The Creation of a Consciousness Shift

Having an open mind

Having an open mind is crucial in facilitating spiritual growth, shifting of consciousness and advancement of wisdom. However, it seems that many people have been either brainwashed, conditioned or manipulated into thinking just one certain way or modality is correct and anything else is either heresy, blasphemy, stupidity, etc. Some people are out of nature more open-minded than others. However, even those who have become firmly fixed in a specific mode of thinking are able to regain that open-mindedness that is so important for growth.

For those individuals who are fixed into one certain narrow way of thinking, if they had such strong faith, exploring subject matters in areas they normally would never have thought of venturing, that faith would not be diminished, if it is indeed a logical faith in something that will turn out to be true or at least point someone in the right direction.

This narrow-minded mode of thought was the cause of persecution of people and groups to the point of being murdered by others who didn’t have an open mind to run the what-if scenarios or at least accept their ideas as possible or even at least tolerate them but not believe in them. This process, which was most evident in various religions, was obviously narrow-mindedness going to extremes.

These individuals must understand that if they keep inside their little box, not entertaining the thoughts of anything else go on in their minds except for what they have been brought up in believing, they might some time in the future wish they had an open mind.

If people did not have an open mind, Jesus, Buddha, Aristotle, and others would have been deemed heretics, persecuted, and have not a single follower and there would be no trace of christianity, buddhism, or metaphysics.

If people did not have an open mind, Leo DaVinci, Francis Bacon, Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Carl Sagan, Steven Hawking would have had average jobs and humanity would still be in the Dark Ages. If people did not have an open mind, there would be no future for humanity, as old souls would have no more wisdom than their younger counterparts.

If people did not have an open mind, there would be no god and no future for this race. Being open-minded is therefore not only important for an individual to have, but for everyone to have since we are all interdependent on each other whether we realize it or not. Creating a bright future for this world is every person’s tasks, not just a select few. Having an open mind will facilitate that.
