Throughout the ages, there have been many who have transcended the domain of the ego and had gotten a taste of those delicious higher states of consciousness. Rather than keep their experiential knowledge and wisdom about the higher aspects of existence to themselves, they spread the word to others, be it through spoken word, written works, or other methods. Thanks to the sages, spiritual teachers, and every-day people who had an enlightening experience, we can ignite the light of expanded awareness concerning the higher aspects of the human experience and of existence itself from such people. There are an untold amount of such spiritual aphorisms to be enjoyed by our higher selves so we will take a look at 10 such aphorisms. May these timeless words nourish your mind and soul.
Aphorism 1
A human being is a part of a whole, called by us a universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest … a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.
-Albert Einstein
Aphorism 2
“Life is what you make it,” this is very true.
Find beauty and magic in all things,
and the Love that sees you through.
When you look at the world where you live,
seek not your gain, but what you can give.
When a man is poor, and hungers, and thirsts,
serve not yourself til you serve this man first.
When a man is down and seeks shelter from cold, give him shelter.
You’ll receive blessings untold.
Live by the Golden Rule:
Do unto others as you’d have done unto you.
And always remember:
When you destroy, you destroy a part of you, too.
Life is what you make of it!
-Unknown
Aphorism 3
We may liken truth to a mountain, and the various interpretations of that truth to different paths leading up to the summit. Many people are traveling along all of these paths and every one, while he is at the bottom, thinks his path is the only one; he sees only a small part of the mountain, and may therefore be justified in crying to his brothers, “You are wrong! Come over to my path; this is the only one that leads to the top.” But as all these people progress upward, they will see that the paths converge at the top and that they are all one in the ultimate.
-Max Heindel, The Rosicrucian Fellowship
Aphorism 4
Do not believe anything
because it is said by an authority,
or if it is said to come from angels,
or from Gods,
or from an inspired source.
Believe it only if you have explored it
in your own heart
and mind and body
and found it to be true.
Work out your own path,
through diligence.
-Gautama Buddha
Aphorism 5
Others will find you
Passing by on the road
They will be drawn to your door
The way that cannot be heard
will be reflected in your voice
The way that cannot be seen
Will be reflected in your eyes-Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching
Since time without beginning, the nature of Awakened Mind and Emptiness has consisted of the same, absolute non-duality of no birth or death, no existence or non-existence, no purity or impurity, no movement or stillness, no young or old, no inside or outside, no shape and form, no sound and color. Neither striving nor searching, one should not use intellect to understand nor words to express Awakened Mind. One should not think that it is a place or things, name or form. One should not think that it is a place or things, name or form. Only then is it realized that all Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and sentient beings possess the same natural state of great Nirvana.
-Huang Po
-John Lennon

Great work once again! Thank you=)
[...] Alex Collier has been in contact with an ancient alien race. They are called the Andromedans from the constellation of Andromeda. He has had regular contact since he was eight years old. These Extraterrestrials are human looking but are very highly advanced. We are the Genetic Ancestors of many Galactic Human Races. We were originally created as a slave race by an ancient Reptilian race called the Annunaki in order to mine Monatomic Gold in order to extend there lifespan. Galactic Human DNA was genetically spliced with the Earths Hominids producing Homo Sapiens. Alex Collier outlines the true history of Planet Earth and describes the various alien races including the Greys from Zeta Reticula 2 ( Dows ). He also describes the past Ecological disasters which have regularly reduced mankind to starting from scratch. He also explains that the Universe is a Multiverse made up of many Planar levels. At present we are on the bottom floor but are due to move higher in frequency on to the next plane of existence in 2013. These levels where created by God the Creator using Science and have a logical system of evolution and progression. Many races have gone through this evolution in the past. hahahahahahaha OMGoodness…..thanks for the smile…
Wow!
These are great! My favorite though is the first one by Einstein. I would also suggest you add “a pale blue dot” by Carl Sagan. It is both deep and humbling.
Take care! :p
I love many of these quotes. I may use one for the dedications page for a book I am trying to publish on the Tarot. If you would like to read some of my work, please stop by at Http://hubpages.com/profile/Jean+Bakula, as I have written about reincarnation, the Seven Hermetic Laws, and much about Astrology which may interest you! Keep up the good work!
I loved Aphorism 4! It was really neat. Jean
Now isn’t it wonderful that people would believe we come from aliens and are related to them. Where’s the proof? How could one believe in such gibberish? Its pure faith in something which cannot be seen to exist. It’s a belief system.. Why would one therefore not rather believe the Bible wherein God spoke clearly through the prophets and through Jesus Christ (Heb 1)?
Somerset/ you are very wise, and wisdom comes from knowing God,love
Thank you a lot for sharing!
why have blind faith in anything, somerset? aphorism 4 pretty much pertains to this situation. The fact is we are not alone. What we can’t say for certain of is whether or not we are being visited. There is a lot of evidence to say we are. Just look at these fairly well known paintings. They have a lot of christian imagery, the connotations may surprise you. http://lithiumdreamer.tripod.com/ufoart.html
Always know, in the infinity of the creator all sequences of events are possible and all things are truth somewhere.
great really usefull stuff on here
Cheers! Very helpful tip on this article!
You could definitely see your expertise in the work you write. The world hopes for more passionate writers like you who are not afraid to say how they believe. Always go after your heart.
This is brilliant
Simply a smiling visitor here to share the love (:, btw outstanding style .
Very interesting info !Perfect just what I was searching for! “We are shaped and fashioned by what we love.” by Johann von Goethe.
Hi there, I discovered your web site by way of Google at the same time as looking for a comparable matter, your web site came up, it appears great. I have bookmarked it in my google bookmarks.
I really love it. Thank you for this. Things like this keep us on the right path.
Very nice! Love to read about this. Thanks.
GoD is Great. We can find HIM in everthing…
Somerset we can’t be alone in the universe, and if anything we are part alien. genetically mutated to be different than the race before. It’s not faith to believe in aliens, how can they be expected not to be there. We don’t live on the only habitable planet. It’s foolish to think life doesn’t exist elsewhere.
Gag me with a spoon. All this needs is a purple dinosaur dishing out the pablum.
I dp npt agree with #8 at a all the Elite has made the world a cesspool so you stopped my reading right there
@ANGEL, the “Elite” are still a part of the consciousness matrix and are connected to us just as much as we are connected to them (this is why it is important to generate and radiate positive mental states such as love rather than negative states such as fear). There are potentially an infinite number of variables as to why things are the way they are and why people are the way they are and to localize a particular aspect (persona) of reality and feel that it is separate from us and something to be fought is misunderstanding the nature of the universal unified field of consciousness because then we are ultimately fighting ourselves. Fighting fire with fire just creates a bigger fire.
Saying that a certain group of people are the sole reason why things are the way they are is a mental state where you are disempowering yourself from feeling you have any influence in things and with that passivity you further perpetuate the unfortunate state of the societal situation. We are all co-creating the future by what we focus on in the present. Focus on doing something to transform society and have an integral hole in redirecting humanity towards a bright future. No person is small enough….just remember Ghandi had essentially single-handedly overthrown the British empire through tactics that were aligned with the belief of interconnected consciousness.
Many of these are enlightening, but NONE of them are “aphorisms”.
I was taken with the Buddha’s words. Strangely I was working on a poem of my own with the same intention this morning:
Let me not describe a path as mine
which has been laid out by another,
sanctified by their feet walking it
and followed by believers ever since..
I’m not one for leaving links usually, but there is more at:

This is so Beautiful Thank You for Sharing
These quotes, while sage and important, are far too long to be called “aphorisms”.
@Ed, that is true, I should have called them by another name as I looked deeper into the nature of aphorisms.
Some really excellent information, Sword lily I found this. “The language of friendship is not words but meanings.” by Henry David Thoreau.
You are my intake, I have few web logs and occasionally run out from post
. “Yet do I fear thy nature It is too full o’ the milk of human kindness.” by William Shakespeare.
Wow, fantastic blog. I actually loved the content material. Please maintain on writing about this topic, I is going to be subscribing subsequent.
I enjoyed this. Thank you.
The picture is beautiful. How great and loving God is to give us such beauty to enjoy.
“Life is what you make it,” this is very true.
How people see the world is often a reflection of how they see themselves.
I love this post!
Love it!
