From Peace and Loveism - Experience the Consciousness Shift
The pineal gland is a 12mm long structure located within the center of the human brain and is as small as a pea, surrounded by cerebrospinal fluid. It is in a tiny cave, behind and above the pituitary gland, which lies a little behind the root of the nose. It is located directly behind the eyes, attached to the third ventricle. It is called pineal because it resembles a pine cone in shape (hence the pine in the pineal) and this fact is seen throughout world religions in their statues and symbols. It has been demonstrated to, in fact, be a third eye as the popular name for the gland suggests. It is the likely source of the creation of DMT within the human body
This gland is activated by light, and it controls the various biorhythms of the body. It works in harmony with the hypothalamus gland, which directs the body's thirst, hunger, sexual desire and the biological clock, that determines our aging process. When the pineal gland awakens, one feels a pressure at the base of the brain. This pressure will often be experienced, when connecting to higher frequency or level of consciousness. While the physiological function of the pineal gland, has been unknown until recent times, mystical traditions and esoteric schools, have long known, this area in the middle of the brain, to be the connecting link between the physical and nonphysical (spiritual) planes of existence. The gland weighs little more than 0.1 gram. The gland is large in children and begins to shrink, with the onset of puberty. The pineal gland secretes melatonin, during times of relaxation and visualization. As we are created by electromagnetic energy and react to EM energy stimuli around us, so does the pineal gland. Intuition is also achieved, through "third eye" development. Knowledge and memory of the astral plane, are not registered in full waking consciousness, until the intuition becomes strong enough. Flashes of intuition come, with increasing consistency, as the 'third eye' is activated to a greater degree, through practice.
Literally a 3rd Eye
Dr. Rick Strassman, pioneer in the most in-depth DMT research and author of DMT: The Spirit Molecule once noted that "curiously, [the pineal] gland is light sensitive and actually has a lens, cornea, and retina." Furthermore, a recent hypothesis proposed by David Klein, head of Neuroendocrinology at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), suggests that the pineal gland has primitive retinas, and that it exercised the dual function of both capturing the image and producing melatonin. He believes that over time this latter function had migrated to the pineal gland, an emancipated organ, while the degeneration of the retina as a product of melatonin in mammals continues without coherent explanation." The pineal gland contains a complete map, of the visual field of the eyes, and it plays several significant roles in human functioning. There is a pathway from the retinas to the hypothalamus, called the retinohypothalamic tract. It brings information, about light and dark cycles, to a region of the hypothalamus, called the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN). From the SCN, nerve impulses travel, via the pineal nerve (sympathetic nervous system) to the pineal gland. These impulses, inhibit the production of melatonin. When these impulses stop (at night, when light no longer stimulates the hypothalamus), pineal inhibition ceases and melatonin is released. The pineal gland, is therefore, a photosensitive organ and an important timekeeper, for the human body.
In religions and cultures
The symbol of the pineal gland is the pine cone, since this is relatively how it appears in its physical form deep inside the brain. It is so revered by the Vatican that a special Vatican court had been built called the ‘Court of the Pine Cone’ where the world’s largest pineal gland symbol is on display. The symbol of the pine cone, which is representative of the pineal gland, is found on the staff of the Pope. The teacher Jesus told individuals that "the eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light." This referred to the internal third eye that sees out into the higher and more subtle forms of energy and Reality.
In Hinduism, the third eye is the eye of clairvoyance. Hindus wear the Tilak, which is the red spot located between the brows. Symbolically, it is used to represent enlightenment. Hindu sacred texts describe the deity Shiva as possessing a third eye. The third eye in the center of the forehead symbolizes spiritual knowledge and power, and is thus called the eye of wisdom or knowledge. According to the texts, the powerful gaze of Shiva's third eye annihilates evil, and thus the evil-doers fear his third eye.
Ancient Greeks believed the pineal gland to be our connection to the "Realms of Thought". Galen (~130-210 CE) discussed the pineal gland in the eigth book of his anatomical work On the usefulness of the parts of the body. He explained that it owes its name (glandula pinealis) to its resemblance in shape and size to the nuts found in the cones of the stone pine. He called it a gland because of its appearance and said that it has the same function as all other glands of the body, namely to serve as a support for blood vessels. Iamblichus repeats the statement of Plato that the study of the science of numbers tends to awaken that organ in the brain which the ancients described as the "eye of wisdom", the organ now known to physiology as the pineal gland. Speaking of the mathematical disciplines, Plato says in the Republic (Book VII), "the soul through these disciplines has an organ purified and enlightened, an organ better worth saving than ten thousand corporeal eyes, since truth becomes visible through this alone." Dionysus, later known as Bacchus to the Romans, was continually depicted carrying a “Thyrsus,” a fennel staff woven with ivy and leaves and topped with a pinecone. The Thyrsus, purported to drip with honey, was regularly used as a sacred instrument at religious rituals and fetes.
The third eye is known as the Eye of Horus or the Eye of Osiris. According to Egyptian mythology, Nekhebit, the Vulture Goddess was a maternal Earth Mother symbolizing regeneration of life, from death comes life, as the vulture is one of the few animals that can mainly subsists on bodies of animals that would poison others. Uatchet, the Snake Goddess, was venerated as a fertility goddess, snakes lay many eggs, and as protection from snakes. These two goddess became the part of the crown over the third eye. Later, the snake goddess became associated with the Serpent Fire whose it's power came out at the third eye, instead of the top of the head which became associated with another god. Modern scholars and philosophers have noted the staff’s symbolic parallels to the Indian Kundalini, a spiritual energy in the body depicted as coiled serpents rising up from the base of the spine to the pineal gland in the moment of enlightenment.
The third eye is known as the middle eye of Shiva in Buddhism. Furthermore, images and statues of the Buddha show him with a pinecone-like covering on top of his head. In Buddhist meditation, one of the objectives is to activate the third eye in order to become aware of the experience of the primary reality.
Effects of EM fields
It has been noted that the pineal gland is effected by coherent electromagnetic (EM) fields and it changes its hormone production when exposed to EM radiation at low levels. Since the earth has the greatest effect of any force on our physiology it is most likely that the cells of the human body and brain align with it. All life within the envelope of earth's vibrational influence attempts to match base-frequencies.
Reactivating the Pineal Gland
Medical science refers to the pineal gland as “the atrophied third eye”. By the age of 12, it has already calcified and hardened and by adulthood, it is dormant and atrophied from lack of use. Recent research reveals that Fluoride which is a toxic additive to our water supply and toothpaste accumulates in the pineal gland where it wreaks havoc. There is an ancient technique that has been passed down through the centuries for reactivating the pineal gland. The technique produces the same results that the Tibetan monks achieve through trance Meditation. This exercise technique should not be attempted by anyone who does not feel ready to explore higher realms of consciousness beyond the five senses.
- To begin the exercise, you need to find the right vibrational tone. Hum the word "love". Do not hum it in a low or high pitched voice but somewhere in between. When you find the right tone, it will resonate with you.
- Sit comfortably with your back straight and your eyes closed and scan your body for any sign of tension.
- Take 3 long deep breaths through your nose and exhale all the tension through your mouth.
- Visualize your third eye opening to a loving universe where all that exists is bliss.
- Take another deep breath through your nose and hold it for a few seconds.
- Just before you exhale, purse your lips and place your tongue between your teeth.
- Press down gently on your tongue with your teeth.
- As you slowly exhale through your pursed lips, loudly hum the word "love" and vibrate the V sound until all of the air is expelled from your lungs.
Repeat this exercise four more times taking a few moments rest between each repetition. To awaken your pineal gland, you need to repeat this exercise again for two more days in a row at 24 hours apart. The entire exercise only has to be done once to be effective. Coupled with meditation exercises, it may take six weeks or more to experience your newly awakened abilities. Once you enter the door to infinity which is always open to you, you will learn that you do not need a reason to be happy.
Maintaining a Healthy Pineal Gland
In order to maintain a healthy pineal gland, there are several ingredients that can be mixed together and take together with a glass of water. The following recommendations have not been approved by the FDA. Use at your own discretion.
- EDTA (di-sodium EDTA) - Removes some types of heavy metals, in particular it de-calcifies glands. Add 1/4 teaspoon to 1 quart of water (1 liter)
Additional Notes on EDTA
The form of EDTA you want to avoid is CA-EDTA which has calcium bonded to it. To avoid the complications of digestive acids interfering with the absorbtion of EDTA and still keep the cost and convienence down from the IV path it has been suggested by others to disolve the dosage of EDTA into a small amount of water and then add DMSO to the liquid. This is then added to shavings of Coco Butter to create a lotion that is rubbed into the wrists and ankles slowly throughout the day that an individual decides to chelate. This accomplishes two objectives - absorbtion without pulling minerals from the gut where a person has just eaten and the slow controlled introduction to the bloodstream in order to keep the level of EDTA steady so a person is not just re-locating the heavy metals around but more efficiently moving it through the kidneys at a controlled rate. This keeps the kidneys from overloading and dumping the toxins before excretion.
- Borax (boron) - Acts as an antidote to fluoride. Add 4 pinches to one-quart of water (1 liter).
- Sodium Thiosulfate - Acts as an antidote to chlorine, cyanide, arsenic, some heavy metals and de-calcification of glands in general. Purchase sodium thiosulfate crystals and add 1/4 tablespoon to a glass of water (250 ml). Shake well and stir and if possible store in a glass bottle or plastic bottle (preferably BPA-free) and seal it. With an eye dropper, add 20 drops from the 250 ml solution to the one-quart of water (1 liter).
The above three ingredients can be added to the same quart of water. It is recommended to drink this one-quart of water per day (rest/stop on weekends).
Iodine is also something to consider as western diets are generally iodine-deficient. The gland requiring this is the throat Chakra.
Magnesium is also important, as 85% of people tested are magnesium-deficient. Magnesium is key for over 300+ enzyme reactions in the human body. Without magnesium and sunlight calcium will not even bind to bone.
For the complete health of glands vitamin C in the form of sodium ascorbate (magnesium ascorbate preferred) is important. Do not take it in the form of ascorbic acid. In large amounts it can make the body very acidic as well as give stomach and gastro-intestinal pains and can even bring on flu. The ideal amount is 70mg per Kg body weight i.e. 30mg per pound body weight. For example, if you weight 75 Kg, then 70mg x 75 = 5250 mg (or 5.2 grams) per day
There are some food products and additives that should be kept away from if one wishes to maintain a healthy pineal gland. These are the following:
- Monosodium Glutamate (MSG)
- Flavor Enhancers
- Food Coloring
- Food Additives
- Food Binders
- Food Preservatives
- Food Fillers
Further suggestions as to how to maintain a healthy pineal gland are as follows:
- At least 30 minutes of sunlight intake per day via eyes, skin, and hair
- Leafy greens such as kombu, arame, wakame, dulse, nori, kale, turnip greens, mustard greens, bok choy, and collard greens
